The largest impression pool in the portfolio. Spirit of Sofia accumulated 4.31 million impressions at an average position of 11.5, the strongest average ranking of the four properties here.

Position 11.5 sits right on the edge of page one. That is the band where small ranking gains produce outsized click gains, which is where the ongoing work is aimed.

The engagement that became our methodology. Onera is where we built the data-first process we now run for every hospitality client: Search Console as ground truth for what a site actually ranks for, keyword tools used only for head-term discovery, and every on-page fact verified against the live site before anything ships.

That process is now a written playbook applied across the rest of the portfolio. Its rules are strict: never put a claim in structured data that a guest cannot see on the page, never redo work another agency already owns, and never let a keyword tool overrule real Search Console data on long-tail queries.

What a full technical audit actually turns up. In August 2026 we audited Elk Hollow over SSH and WP-CLI against the live environment, covering server, WordPress, database, indexability, structured data, performance and security.

The headline finding: the homepage was returning zero valid structured data. A Resort schema block existed, but it had been pasted into a custom field as an escaped HTML string, so the only place it reached the page was inside a Google Tag Manager JavaScript object. Google does not parse structured data out of a JavaScript variable, so the brand's primary landing page had no schema at all and forfeited rich-result eligibility.

The audit also flagged PHP 8.1, roughly seven months past its end-of-life security cutoff, and transactional pages that were both indexable and submitted in the sitemap. None of this is visible from the front end. All of it quietly caps a site's ceiling.

A ranking problem that was not a ranking problem. Spoon Mountain is a three-tent property in the Texas Hill Country, about an hour from Austin. Mapping its money pages against Search Console showed an unusual pattern: the pages already ranked well, between positions 2.8 and 7.1, but converted impressions to clicks at just 0.2% to 0.9%.

That is a titles, meta and search-intent problem, not a rankings problem, and it changes the whole shape of the engagement. The largest single pool of wasted impressions was the Book page at roughly 124,000 impressions and 0.9% CTR. The three tent pages together held around 238,000 impressions at roughly 0.25%.

The audit also surfaced a hostname canonicalisation split, with Search Console reporting the homepage separately across three hostnames at three different average positions, fragmenting both authority and reporting.

It now carries the highest click-through rate and the best average position of the four.

How We Read the Data

Why These Numbers Look Modest.

Most agency case studies quote total organic traffic. That number is dominated by people already searching the brand name, who were going to book anyway. We strip brand queries out entirely, so what is left is demand we actually created.

01

Unbranded only

Every figure on this page excludes brand searches. On one property here, brand queries alone account for over 34,000 clicks that we have deliberately left out.

02

Search Console is ground truth

We trust the client's own Search Console over any third-party volume estimate for what a page ranks for, where, and how it converts. Keyword tools are for head-term discovery only.

03

Position shown with clicks

Clicks without average position hide whether a result was ever visible. We publish both, so a low CTR at position 4 can be told apart from a low CTR at position 30.

04

Nothing in schema a guest cannot see

We never add ratings, prices or claims to structured data that do not appear on the page. Self-serving markup is ineligible for rich results and risks a manual action.
